Day 2 // Eat, pray, fangirl
written on Monday, February 23, 2015 @ 8:00 AM ✈
Splitting Day 2 in two entries mainly because the next entry will solely based on SS6 & FANGIRLING. Yeap.
Started the day with a wefieeee!
10th January 2015
The only time I'm willing to eat breakfast is when I'm staying in a hotel because how to resist breakfast from the hotel. Plus, it is Dusit Thani, one of the five stars hotel in Bangkok. You just can't!
The amount of food available for us there, you can find all different kinds of breads.... Fruit juices..... Your not so typical cereals... All different kinds of cheese which I didn't try because those cheese, stinks
A chef personally frying eggs for you...
There were just so many food to choose from! I don't know why but when I'm in Bangkok, my appetite was extra huge. Guess who had 3 rounds of breakfast that day and had to stop herself from going for another one last round because must control ><
There's Kimchi and omg the Kimchi tasted so good?!
The chicken lentils were halal! ;)
Maybe another reason for my gluttonous was because I really needed the energy for later afternoon because WHY?!?!?!
How to fangirl over my oppars when I don't have enough energy right! ;)
(Just amazed with Iphone 6 camera...no edits okay!)
Which also explains why both Diana and I were in SJ's t-shirt and got stared (I think judged too) by the hotel guests >< Worse, there were a group of Koreans opposite us who were also having their breakfast and when we first passed by them, they were all staring, trying to read the hangul words imprinted on the shirt xD I was super embarrassed at first thinking why did I agree to wear that shirt to breakfast but YOLO.
And yes, being with Diana means more selfies or what do they called it? Wefies? But wtv, here's our wefies before we went back to our room!
Can't get enough of the shirt and....our comfortable but flat hotel slippers xD Once, when we wanted to enter the lift, there was a Korean man and as expected, he took a second glance at us, giving us a O_o look on his face while he reads the words on our shirt.
"Where are you going to?"
"Super Junior concert!"
"Korean idol?"
"Hahaha yup!" //hides face//
After the embarrassing encounter with the group of Koreans and ahjusshi, we still had a lot of time before the concert starts so we decided to walk around Siam Paragon which is a few stops away from our hotel. Plus, Kak Afni was craving for After You!
When we exited from the station, we were greeted with....
an enormous PIKACHU inflatable balloon!!!
Apparently, it was Children's Day that time in Bangkok or maybe Thailand in general, so to celebrate Children's Day, the Pikachu Event was held for them.
Both of us were sooooooo excited when we saw the event and rushed off to take a closer look of what was happening, leaving behind Diana's mum, her mum's friend and her mum, who decided to wait for us at a corner while Kak Afni, Kak Nurul and their friend went to After You cafe. Despite the scorching weather and the fact that we wore our SJ's shirt out in public which as expected, got people staring at, both of us were still so excited and rushed off to join the massive crowd (and took pictures with the huge PIKACHU!)
OH LOOK IT'S A PIKACHUUUUU!
It was getting more crowded so we decided to go in the mall plus we were searching for the Pikachu paper hat that everyone was wearing. Do you know how desperate we were wanting to get that paper hat?! xD We went in and out of the mall just to find the staff that distributed the hat but unfortunately, we could not find him. But it's okay, because in the mall, we found...
A mini pikachu to take a picture with!
Everything in the mall was about the Pokémon World - from the decorations to people cross-dressing to game booths....I've never seen so many Pikachus before!
We decided to take a break from our paper hat hunt so we went to H&M and tried out some stuffs just to kill time xD
We even found someone wearing the same shirt at us lol. Definitely a fan girl.
And guess what we got after we left the shopping mall!
The Pikachu paper hats of course! We actually queued up for the hats yknow, thank goodness the queue wasn't that long when we went.
Met the rest for lunch at Laem Cha-Roen Seafood Restaurant and that's when I had my very first authentic clear tomyum :Q____ The thought of it makes me salivate already because the tomyum tasted so different from the ones in Singapore, and different as in GOOD different. Describing how it taste does no justice to it so you should really come to Thailand and try it for yourself!!! Definitely an 11/10!
Not only the tomyum but the fish egg soup is delicious too with it's tangy taste, compared to the tomyum which is spicy and sour. Yeah, I know, fish egg sounds weird and I never had one before but fortunately, it doesn't taste weird as it sounds.
Oh and at first, I thought that they added fries in the soup but apparently, they were radishes or were they turnips? (Sorry STM uh)
Food rating? 8/10 because I still prefer tomyum over any kind of soups #teamtomyum
Our table was filled with all different kinds of dishes but I could only managed to ask my friends to snap a few cause we were all starving xD
Fried fish - crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside :Q___
Idky but this oyster omelette tasted so good, just look at how big the oysters were!!
Thankyu for the meal!
After a very good and satisfying lunch, we headed to the supermarket to shop for groceries!
Oh look what/who I found in the snacks section ;)
HEY MA(MASITA) NAEGA AY YA YA YA! ;D (picture taken from Kak Afni's blog heh thanks)
I would've bought many of them if I could but nuuuuu so in the end, I bought 5 packets ><
We just had lunch but guess who went for desserts after the short grocery shopping session?
Since we were still full, we decided to share the desserts, so the non-matcha lovers ordered some Honeydew sorbet
and this cute Japanese strawberry swiss roll set,
while the matcha lovers (me included HEH) ordered match + charcoal with red bean dessert and I think I'm loving the combination between both flavors <3 I've always thought that charcoal would be bitter and tastes weird but it's flavor actually balances well with the matcha so #newfanalert
All the food made us tired and lazy so we made our way back to the hotel, to freshen up and get ready for...
SS6!!!
....which will be in my next entry so, goodbye for now because it is already midnight and I have work at 9am later :(
