Day 2 // Hello korean food

25 November 2014
Woke up at 8am kst the next day and I was really looking forward to our breakfast at Namdaemun Market for kalgaksu noodles! :’D Since I’ve already learnt my lesson not to walk all the way back to the alley to avoid the enthusiastic ahjummas asking you to go to their stall, we decided on the same stall that I previously went to. I doubt the ahjumma recognise me but anyway! Hello kalgaksu noodles!

She gave us free borimbab which includes LOADS of vegetables, sticky purple rice with beans and LOADS of seaweed as well as gokujang aka red pepper paste.

It was my first time trying the borimbab and thank goodness I eat vegetables so I actually like it J (but if you were to ask me to choose between the knife cut noodles and borimbab, I, in no more than 5 seconds choose the former haha). I was so happy when the knife cut noodles were served and ate it heartily :’) Poor Asy can’t enjoy her food cause she had gastric pain L

After satisfying our stomach, we walked around Namdaemun and bought some souvenirs for our family. We were shocked when we had to pay 70,000won (about $75) for all of it and thought we got cheated but it’s actually because we bought a lot lol.

Made our way to Express Bus Terminal for shoppinggggg! Asy could not believe it when I told her that when I came here last time, I did not spend a single thing for myself cause the place is really a shopping heaven for girls. Well, I can’t believe that I didn’t buy anything too because this time, I really bought A LOT (and it’s all thanks to Asy, she kept on saying Eh this one nice, buy!!!! -.-) But mine was nothing compared to hers, who in the end bought more than 5 pieces of clothes hahaha. I think I bought 3? xD Oh and I REALLY fall in love with this pullover with a eoul word printed on it T^T Thank goodness this girl forced me to buy it or I’ll regretttt. It’s only 10,000 won for pete’s sake T^T Didn’t regret spending 30,000 won there cause it’s all worth it J

I’m actually impressed with my Subway line direction skills because knowing how bad my sense of directions is, I actually remember and is familiar with the subway map. Last time, I followed Liling and Gina everywhere they went, like a clueless kid but this time, I did the subway navigation so /pats self/ (and also thanks to Asy impressive map skills)

Been wanting to go to Kai’s sister café, KAMONG ever since it first opened which is at Seoul National University of Education, just a stop after Express Bus Terminal so we went there after many hours of shopping and walking to and fro the endless underground shopping mall.

It’s interior gives an atas feeling and I like how building is made of glass so you can actually enjoy the view outside while sipping your coffee. Ordered Green Tea Latte, that costs 5,500 won and shared chocolate chip muffin with Asy.

Wanted to stay a little bit longer for Kai (if he came but he didn’t lol what are the chances) but it was already getting dark (it’s only 5pm kst but feels like 7pm sgt since it’s nearing winter) and we still had to go to Gangnam so we left the café L. Asy fell in love with the Café Mocha (like how she fell in love with Chanyeol and Xiumin) and told me that we definitely have to go here again.

Walked the streets of Gangnam and it felt as if I was in Orchard/City area cause of the high-end buildings and many working adults.

We were so excited when we saw this RM building and thought it was some RM headquarters but nah

Guess what we found in Gangnam?! HOTTEOK! Our very first and expensive hotteok which costs us 5,000 won sobsob

Once we finished eating, photo shooting and people watching, we head back to Hongdae because we had to print out some documents xD. It’s funny thinking about it because really, I never/have yet to hear any travellers who went overseas finding a printer shop? We texted our host, Jay earlier in the morning to ask her about the nearest printing shop and she actually send us a screenshot of the map on how to get to the shop. Thank you Jay T^T After much trouble understanding the map and figuring out the Korean words (I’m glad the few years of studying Korean wasn’t put to waste), we finally found the place, which apparently is a huge building named Kinko.

We were hungry by then so we went to have our lunner at Yoogane, again! Ordered the same dish but this time, instead of the cheese ddeokbokki and seafood pajeon, we ordered mozeralla cheese and ddeokbokki! Finger licking goooood :9

After a good meal, we walked around for a while and chanced upon Neil from Teen Top, Kim Gura, some guy and Seho who were filming something.

Waited for them to leave the place and that's when we left too since we had to sleep in early because it’s MBC SHOW CHAMPION tomorrow bb!!!

The amount of reds we have xD
