Day 2 itinerary

  • Lotte Mart
  • Window shopping @ Myeongdong
  • Lunch @ Jaws Tteokbokki
  • Dinner @ Yoogane

29 April 2014
So today is a VERY special day to me because it's my 20th birthday! :) It's even more special as I'm no longer a teenager and I get to spend my birthday here in Seoul :')

The next morning, I was the one who woke up last but prepared first (heh) and as I went out of our room to grab some water, I was being greeted with birthday cake from Gina and Liling :') Awwww, isn't that so sweet of them!

Excuse my morning face

After that mini birthday celebration, we headed out, can't rmbr the timing but I know it's not so early to Lotte Mart at Seoul Station and while on the way to the subway, we grab some warm snacks (1,500 won) to fill our stomach and since it was rather chilly outside, the snack tasted extra delicious!

Mine was red bean filling :9

We finally arrived here and the Mart is hugeeeeeeeeeeeee!! It's like GIANT but 3x larger?!

An ahjumma "air blowing" the chips

Kim Soohyun is everywhere! Even on the trolley xD

As expected, we bought alot of snacks for ourselves and family so it's not a shocker that it all adds up to nearly S$100! xD If we didn't control ourselves, it'd be worse! After shopping for food, we went back to our guesthouse to put back the things cause we don't want to bring the huge paperbags along to Namsan Tower!

It was still bright outside and we were hungry so we headed to Jaws Ddeokbokki @ MD for our lunch!!

This was obviously my first time trying authentic ddeokbokki, odeng and their finger food which incl glass noodle wrapped with seaweed, pumpkin, sweet potato and octopus fried in batter, so it tasted so freaking delicious I'm currently salivating just thinking about 'em :Q The ddeokbokki is indeed spicy judging from it's colour and even I, who LOVE spicy food was shocked when I had the first bite of the ddeokbokki. The gochujang is so thick its taste lingered on my tongue and throat. The odeng is juicy thanks to the soup and the finger food tasted so good I fall in love with it especially the glass noodle wrapped with seaweed. URGH!! I WANT TO EAT IT AGAIN.

When our stomach are happy, we decided to continue walking around Myeongdong and we passed by this "Korea Welcomes You" booth and managed to grab some souvenirs from the staffs there!

Since I'm an avid EXO stan, it was actually heaven for me to be walking around MD cause the stores are all playing EXO's song (though at one point of time I got sick of it lol) Then there's this HUGE 3 storey Nature Republic building and YESSSS, since EXO are the current promoters for NR, their standees are everywhere. And WALA!

It's EXO bijes!! (ignore my face it's called cant-control-feels-face)

So I actually took most of the interior parts of the building that has their signatures and all but it's in my friend's phone so WAIT alright I'll definitely post them up! But here's some which I managed to grab it from my friend's lol.

HOW DO YOU LOOK SO GOOD LUHAN

LUHAN'S SIGNATURE. I TOUCHED IT I FREAKING TOUCHED IT.

More EXO standees :^)

Selfie time w BB

EXCUSE MY FAN GIRL MOMENT

Do we make a cute couple? xD

I'LL BRING HOME THEM STANDEES IF I COULD YA KNOW. But anyway, DO YOU HEAR ME SPAZZING. Lol. It's like, despite not seeing the real them, their standees alone are enough to fulfill my fangirl satisfaction! Err okay that sounds wrong. My friends were all like, rolling eyes at me HAHAHAHA but since it's my birthday, they decided to give me chance. HEHEHE such great friends I've got ;)

I couldn't resist not buying anything from NR so I bought this lip balm (THAT I'VE BEEN EYEING SINCE FOREVER) which cost appx 6000 won and what's more awesome is that they actually stated the members name on the lip balm cause initially, you won't be able to know who you get cause the lip balm is sealed and it's based on luck in order to get your bias face in the lip balm. Not only that, I'm able to choose the photo card of a member that I want, so fan girl instinct says BUY OR YOU'LL REGRET hahaha

We make our way to the Namsan Tower around 7pm KST. We had to walk up to this SUPER steep hill which is just beside our guesthouse and goodness, it was one tiring walk.. Hills after hills, and steps after steps and finally, we reached the cable car!

PS: those two guys are actually good looking yknow hehe

We still had to climb up long flights of stairs to reach the Namsan Tower -.- Poor knees...

Passed by this familiar shop which was where EXO bought twist potatoes in EXO Showtime ;)

FINALLY YAY IT'S THE NAMSAN TOWER :')

Went in the Namsan tower to go to the Observatory Tower to see the whole Seoul

Beautiful night view :')

It's North Koreaaaa

Those are love tiles, where you are to write down msg/wishes for your loved ones. But there are others who wrote msg for themselves, say birthday wishes or so ;)

After going to the Observatory Tower, we went to the locks place and THERE ARE LOCKS EVERYWHERE!!! From new shiny locks to old rusty ones. And as expected, my fan girl instincts ask me to search for EXOs' locks since they went here during EXO Showtime but to no avail, I didn't managed to find theirs like duhhh. Hahaha. The view is indeed spectacular BUT it was freezing cold my hands went numb and I can't stop shivering :( Nonetheless, I had a great time enjoying the view, admiring sweet couples and pitying myself cause #foreveralone haha jk.

The main purpose of going to the lock place is to lock our locks so since we actually bought a lock, wow, #lockception, we went to write down our thoughts and wishes and as for me...

:)

We were so hungry and the cold wind is merciless so we rode the cable car back and went to MD again for dinner @ Yoogane

(insert more pic)

Mine was seafood fried rice with ddeokbokki, cheese ddeokbokki and sweet potato ddeokbokki :) I'll give it a 8/10! The tteokbokki was deliciousssss and chewy, my fav would be the cheese ddeokbokki. The seafood fried rice was nice too! Their service is not bad as they actually cooked the dish in front of us ;)

It was already past midnight by the time we finish eating so we decided to walk around the empty streets of MD and it's so peaceful I had a hard time believing that I'm in MD :')

At around 2am kst, we left the place and headed back to our guesthouse. We slept rather late that day cause we're all excited and happy at the same time so we snacked while talking about whatever is in our mind :)

Lights off at 3am plus? And that marks the end of Day 2. Fast aye?

It was an unforgettable and the BEST 20th birthday I could ever ask for. Yes, I'm a lil sad that I was away from my family and friends, but being able to celebrate my birthday on the country that I've been wanting to go makes me forgot about all the sadness and having my 2 friends by my side on my birthday is more than enough. I'll ALWAYS remember this day and CHERISH those moments. And it's all thanks to my parents :')

xoxo;
