Tour guide for the day
written on Friday, March 28, 2014 @ 9:50 AM ✈
Phew. Finally I'm done with the templates!!
I actually have LOADS of things to blog about but firstly, I will talk about the most (not quite) recent one which is.... THE DAY FAIZAH AND I BECAME TOUR GUIDES FOR OUR JAPANESE FRIENDS! Well, technically, it's Faizah's penpal and she asked me along to accompany her to bring them around Singapore. Thank goodness I have nothing on that day 1/3/2014 so I'd gladly tag along! We were actually LATE as the flight landed around 1pm plus and we were still in the train otw to the airport. I was worried at first cause my aunt told me that the check-out won't be so long and will only took 15 minutes at most. By the time we reached, it was already 2pm!!! The luggages were all out and we were really hoping that the last 2 huge bags were theirs but to no avail, it's not!! We began to panic and I walked to and fro the area to find them while Faizah stood there holding the banner in case they were still there in the arrival hall. Still no sight of them so both of us decide to walk abit more and then!! I saw 2 somewhat familiar backs of the girls with one huge luggage so I told Faizah that "Eh, I think it's them" but she was like, "Nono, couldn't be" Fortunately, they turned and I'm like "IT'S THEM!!!!!" and we ran towards the sisters! Hahahaha, it was so funny and we straightaway took our first meeting picture together showing the banner which I made last minute in the train (people were like looking at me while I was doing it and I'm like, tsk whatca looking at)
TADAH!! Cute right the sisters? xD
After the first meeting, Faizah and I actually wanted to board the train since its cheaper but the two sisters wanted to ride in the taxi so we just tag along. Board the taxi and the taxi driver was actually friendly BUT a scam tbvh. Tsk. WHY?!
He told us that he can bring us around Singapore for an hour and explain to the two sisters about the historical Singapore blablabla shits, so he'll charge us $60 for that but since we are students, $50. We were so freaking stupid to have accept his offer please!! URGHHHH!! Till now, I freaking regret it.
WHY?!
Cause at the end of the freaking 1hr "tour guide around Singapore" (we can't even get down the taxi cause of his blablabla excuses) he freaking charged us another $10 cause of explaining the histories of Singapore. WHAT SHITS. And we didn't know that $60 EXCLUDE THE TAXI FARE WHICH MEANS THAT THE WHOLEEEEEEEEE TAXI FAIR COSTS AROUND $90 FREAKING PLUS. Omg we got scammed by our own Singaporean taxi driver how great is that. Sigh. Even though it has passed, I'm still mad thinking about it. So much regrets.... We can do alot more things than spending the time in his freaking hot taxi and hearing the explanations like as if the Japanese sisters can understand. Major heol!
Anyway, WHY AM I TALKING SO MUCH ABOUT THIS PAIN IN THE ASS UNCLE.
So our first destination was Haji Lane as we were famished so Faizah decide to bring the sisters to Hajjah Maimunah restaurant for lunch. She treated the 3 of us (which I'm very thankful of, THANK YOU SIS) It was my first time going there and the food is delicious!! Definitely will go there another time when I have the money hahaha cause it's not so cheap. After a good lunch, the scam uncle brought us around and I'm not going to talk more about it since it pissed me off LMAO so lets just skip to the part after the 1hr taxi ride.
First stop was Haji Lane! Wanted to bring them in the Sultan Mosque but visiting hours were closed so we brought them to the shop houses instead. They were in awe of all the beautiful graffiti on the walls and shops
(but definitely can't beat those at Japan, I mean come on its J A P A N)
Then we went to Bugis Street since they wanted to buy some souvenirs. Since both Faizah and I felt bad about the taxi scam, we decide to pay for the souvenirs instead! Plus, they gave us this cutesy souvenirs from Japan so it'll be quite embarrassing if we didn't give anything in return. The weather was pretty hot on that day and since they wanted to eat Mango Dessert, I decide to bring them to Bugis Junction. What I didn't know is that there the Food Junction was closed so no mango dessert for them :( Sorry :(( So because of that, we ate JCO froyo instead which Faizah paid for.
Next stop was Little India where Faizah led the way since she had already explored the place before. Hahaha. I know nuts about Little India :( Asked them about Japan and the differences between both countries. Surprisingly, in Japan, the houses are mostly in either of this 3 colours - brown, grey and white compared to Singapore where you can find a lot of colourful houses! Maybe, that's because the sisters came from the countryside? I don't know but yeah. New fact huh? Hahaha. Finally, we reached Mustafa Center were the sisters really really look forward to going there! Decide to buy for them murukus since it's a MUST TRY snacks!
After the very short shopping session, we went back to their hotels which are within the walking distance from Mustafa Center. Hang out in their rooms - took loads of pictures, polaroids and videos. At first, both Faizah and I were clueless about what they asked us to do cause the eldest sis asked us to make some cutesy movements. Then after she showed us what she finally did with that video, we were like OHHHHHHHHHHHHH. SUPER CUTE PLEASE!! Now I know how those Japanese and Koreans people made those cutesy video! Lmao. It was awkward at first cause LOL so not me doing all those cute actions HAHAHAH.
After all the fun and laughters, Faizah and I left the place around 10 plus with a heavy heart cause that will be the last time we will see them again :( Despite the huge language barrier, it's amazing that we are still able to enjoy the day, making it a memorable one.
Okay, enough with the grandmother story. Let the rest of the pictures do the talking now! :)
I took 2 days to finish this post omg my fingers ache right now lmao.
Okay I have alot more things to update here so....
BYEEEEEE!!!!
